Bridge of Stories
Bridge of Stories
We live in stories the way fish live in water.
Sponsored by the Igiugig Tribal Library, Niraqutaq Qallemcinek is a multi-year local history project that collects and organizes audio stories and related photographs from Igiugig community members to share our rich social and cultural history on the banks of Alaska's Kvichak River. To support Yup'ik language learning, the stories will eventually be available in Yup'ik as well as English.
Stories of yesterday and today, by young and old, will remind you why our village's stories must be told!
